What is Morse Code?
Morse code is a method of encoding text characters using sequences of short signals (dots) and long signals (dashes). Developed in the 1830s by Samuel Morse and Alfred Vail for the telegraph, it became the first digital communication system. Each letter and digit has a unique dot-dash pattern — for example, SOS is · · · — — — · · · (three dots, three dashes, three dots). Word boundaries are marked with a slash (/). Morse code is still used in aviation, amateur radio, and emergency signalling today.
How to Use the Morse Code Translator

In the Text → Morse tab, type or paste any text — the Morse code output updates automatically.

Click Play to hear the Morse code as audio tones. Click Stop to halt playback.

Adjust the Speed slider (WPM) to control how fast the code is played, and the Tone slider to change the pitch.

Switch to Morse → Text to decode Morse code — separate letters with spaces and words with /.
